Westminster's sophomore Payton Beeler scored two goals in Saturday's 3-0 shutout over Blackburn. The women's soccer team is now 7-5-1 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.
Freshman Courtney Whitlock scored the first goal of the game just 2:33 in. The Blue Jays took five more shots-on-goal in the first half, but could not get past Blackburn's goalkeeper.
Beeler scored in the 65th minute with the assist from senior Katie Koonce. She scored again in the 70th minute to take the 3-0 lead.
The Blue Jays outshot Blackburn 25-3. The team took 13 shots-on-goal including the three scored goals.
Junior goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey (7-5-1) grabbed the shutout win in net.
The Blue Jays complete their away season on Thursday, October 22, at Principia College. The game begins at 8:00 pm in Elsah, Illinois.
