DECATUR, Ill. -Westminster women's soccer fell in its season opener to Millikin, 3-1.

The Blue Jays open the season 0-1 with the loss. 

Westminster got on the board first in the eighth minute on a goal from Paige Townsend, her first of the season. 

The Big Blue answered with another goal in the first half to make the score even going into the half. 

Millikin went on to score two more goals in to second half to take the 3-1 lead and secure the win. 

Westminster managed eight shots to Millikin's 11, led by four from Townsend and three from freshman Cara Wilfong. 

Sarah Cradick started in goal and made five saves for Westminster. 

Westminster travels to Milwaukee to face Lakeland and Alverno Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10.
