Fulton, MO 10/13/2022- The Westminster College volleyball team hosted Culver-Stockton College on Thursday night. The Wildcats would win the match 3-1 (15-25,25-16,12-25,23-25). The Blue Jays fall to 15-9 on the season and are 9-3 in the SLIAC.
The Wildcats were in control most of the night, and the Blue Jays had flashes, but Culver-Stockton stopped any momentum the Blue Jays gathered. Westminster won the second set 25-16 and lost a close fourth set 23-25.
The Westminster attack was led by Haley Menke (O'Fallon, Mo. / Fort Zumwalt West) who had thirteen kills, and Malena Bixby ( New Berlin, IL / New Berlin) who had ten. Senior setter Kate Rable (Saint Peters, Mo. / Fort Zumwalt South) had twenty-seven assists in the game. The Blue Jays had four players with double-digit digs.
They will be back in action on Saturday, October 15th as the Blue Jays look to end their two-game losing streak at the Webster University Tri-Match. They will take on the Gorloks at 11:00 AM and then face Central College at 1:00 PM.
