Fulton, Mo 10/22/2023- The Westminster College women's soccer team took on Blackburn College on senior night. Prior to the game, the Blue Jays honored their six seniors in an emotional ceremony. Once the game started the Jays were all business, scoring a goal in the opening minute and then another one in the 22nd minute. They would go on to defeat the Beavers with a final score of 2-0. Westminster improved 6-6-1 on the season and 4-2-1 in the SLIAC and they are currently in fourth place with two games remaining. Blackburn falls to 3-7-4 on the year and 0-5-2 in the SLIAC.  

Senior, Lauren Halamicek, had a night to remember, scoring both Blue Jays goals. The first came off an assist from her sister, Kaitlyn Halamicek, and the second came off an assist from fellow senior Rachel Nolte.  

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Wednesday, October 25th, when they host Fontbonne University in a matchup of two of the top teams in the SLIAC. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
