10/18/2024 Fulton, MO- On Thursday evening, the Blue Jays celebrated both their Seniors and a win after edging out Lyon College 1-0. The Blue Jays improved their record to 5-6-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play, while Lyon dropped to 3-6-2 and 2-1-1 in conference. 

The game's lone goal came just before halftime, with Jamison Keisker scoring in the 44th minute off an assist from Brooke Yanskey. Keisker's strike proved to be the difference-maker, as both teams remained scoreless in the second half. Westminster dominated possession and offensive opportunities, tallying 23 shots to Lyon's 3. 

The Blue Jays' defense held strong, with goalkeeper Mia Turner securing the shutout by making three key saves. Lyon's goalkeeper faced constant pressure but kept her team within striking distance with nine saves. 

This win marks another positive step for Westminster as they look to build momentum in conference play. The Blue Jays will next face Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois on October 19, where they aim to continue their winning streak and further establish their presence in the conference standings.
