10/12/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster volleyball team put together a strong performance on the road Saturday, earning two wins at the Mississippi University for Women (MUW) Tri-Match. The Blue Jays outlasted MUW in a five-set thriller before sweeping Lyon College in straight sets to cap off a dominant day of play.

In the opening match against MUW, Westminster rallied after dropping the first set to claim a 3–2 victory by scores of 19–25, 25–17, 25–15, 22–25, and 15–13. Kylie Hasselbacher led the Blue Jays' offense with 17 kills on a .314 hitting percentage, while Samantha Hansen added 10 kills and Paige Rowland chipped in 8 kills and 12 digs. Setter Landrey VanOverschelde directed the attack with 39 assists and contributed 6 aces and 7 digs, helping Westminster maintain composure in the decisive fifth set. Defensively, Haylie Schnake anchored the back row with 17 digs, and Katelynn Jackson added 12 digs and 10 kills for a double-double.

Westminster carried that momentum into the second match of the day, sweeping Lyon College 25–22, 25–21, 26–24. The Blue Jays hit an impressive .283 as a team, highlighted by another balanced offensive effort. Hasselbacher again led with 8 kills, while Rowland, Hansen, and Makenzie Sansone each added 6–8 kills apiece. VanOverschelde and Emma Behrmann combined for 37 assists, and Schnake continued her steady defensive play with 7 digs.
