10/2/2025 Fulton, MO – Westminster College is proud to announce that Braedon Cairer, a standout player from the men's soccer team, has been named the Westminster College September Player of the Month. A junior from Smithton, Missouri, Braedon is a Psychology major and a member of the Pre-Healthcare Professionals Association on campus.
September marked an impressive start to the 2025-26 athletic year, and Braedon was at the heart of it. He appeared in eight games, racking up nine points with seven assists and one goal, helping lead the Blue Jays to a solid 5-3-1 record to open the season. His playmaking abilities have not only boosted the team's offensive production but also earned him top spots on both the conference and national leaderboards.
Cairer currently leads the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) in assists and ranks sixth in total points. Nationally, he stands 4th in NCAA Division III in both total assists and assists per game, highlighting his elite vision and consistency on the field.
Reflecting on the honor, Braedon shared, "I'm very thankful to receive this award. To me, it's not just an individual honor but also a reflection of the team around me that works so hard to win games. This award motivates me to keep improving and to continue representing my college with honor."
One of the defining moments of the month came in a big early-season matchup. "We go into every game wanting a win, no matter the opponent. However, winning against WashU was a major accomplishment and confidence builder due to all the success their program has had. Being able to win that game got us off on the right foot for the season, with more wins like that to come."
A Westminster SAAC representative praised Cairer's contributions, noting, "Outstanding start to the season, leading the SLIAC in assists. Also excels in the classroom."
When asked what he values most about the team, Braedon did not hesitate when saying, "The overall winning mentality we have is the reason behind our success so far. We push each other to improve, as well as pick each other up when things don't go as planned. Everyone wants to win just as bad as the guy next to them, and that's what it takes."
Off the field, Braedon enjoys golfing in his free time, finding balance between his athletic and academic commitments.
Braedon's leadership, work ethic, and selflessness make him a key figure in the Blue Jays' strong start this season. His on-field success and humble perspective truly embody what it means to be a Westminster student-athlete.
Congratulations to Braedon Cairer, Westminster College's September Player of the Month!
