10/24/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster women's soccer team came up just short on Thursday night, falling 1-0 to Spalding University in a tightly contested SLIAC matchup in Fulton. Despite a strong defensive effort and several late scoring chances, the Blue Jays were unable to find the back of the net.
Both teams battled through a scoreless first half before Spalding capitalized in the second, breaking through for the lone goal of the match. Westminster managed four total shots, including one on target from Emma Fontenot, while goalkeeper Reagan Chigas tallied six saves to keep the Blue Jays within reach throughout the contest.
Shea Nortrup and Kendall Chigas anchored a steady back line, limiting Spalding's attack to just ten shots overall.
Westminster will look to finish the regular season on a high note when they host Greenville on Wednesday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. for their final home match of the year.
