Blue Jays Sweep Webster Tri-Match

10/25/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster volleyball team continued its dominant run with two strong victories at Saturday's tri-match, defeating Webster in four sets (13–25, 25–19, 25–23, 25–19) and sweeping Eureka (25–14, 25–7, 25–19). The Blue Jays improved to 25-5 overall and 11-1 in SLIAC play, maintaining their position at the top of the conference standings.

One of the biggest highlights of the day came in the second match, when senior outside hitter Kylie Hasselbacher recorded her 1,000th career kill against Eureka, a remarkable milestone in her Westminster career. Hasselbacher tallied nine kills in that match and added 11 kills earlier in the day against Webster, finishing the tri-match with 20 total kills and consistent leadership at the net.

In the opener against Webster, Westminster rebounded after a slow first set to take control behind Paige Rowland's 12 kills and Samantha Hansen's seven kills and five blocks. Landrey VanOverschelde set the tone with 29 assists and nine digs, while Katelynn Jackson and Makenzie Sansone combined for 15 kills to fuel the comeback.

The Blue Jays carried that momentum into the sweep of Eureka, led by a dominant offensive showing. Meghan Nolte turned in an incredible performance with 12 kills on a .750 hitting percentage, while Jackson added eight kills and Liv Hart and Kendal Herzing chipped in offensively. Westminster hit .406 as a team, one of its most efficient outings of the season.

The Blue Jays will look to keep their hot streak alive when they return home on Tuesday, November 4, to face Nebraska Wesleyan in non-conference play.
