10/30/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster women's soccer team secured their place in the SLIAC tournament with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Greenville University on Wednesday night. The result sets up a quarterfinal matchup at home on Saturday, November 1, at 6 p.m. against Principia.
Greenville struck first in the 47th minute giving themselves a brief lead. Westminster responded quickly, and just 2 minutes later, Addi Curtis evened the score with an assist from Emma Fontenot, keeping the Blue Jays in control of their playoff destiny.
Westminster outshot Greenville 6-14, including three shots on goal, while goalkeeper Reagan Chigas made four saves to limit Greenville's opportunities. Fiona Shelp and Molly Angell also contributed offensively, helping maintain pressure on the Panthers throughout the match.
With the tie, Westminster advances to the SLIAC quarterfinals and will host Principia this Saturday at 6 p.m. in what promises to be a highly competitive playoff opener.
