11/15/2025 Fulton, MO - Westminster Football closed out the 2025 season in winning fashion on Saturday afternoon, earning a hard-fought 15–6 victory over Northwestern-St. Paul in Minnesota. The Blue Jays used a dominant defensive performance and a pair of touchdown connections through the air to secure their fourth win of the year.
Northwestern struck first midway through the opening quarter, punching in a 1-yard run to take a 6–0 lead. From there, Westminster seized control and never let it go. With 2:44 left in the first quarter, Trey Thomas found Keegan Zdybel on a 4-yard touchdown to tie the game, and William Corley's successful kick put the Blue Jays ahead 7–6.
Westminster delivered the play of the day just before halftime, engineering a 12-play, 99-yard drive that chewed over four minutes off the clock. Thomas capped it with a beautiful 33-yard touchdown strike to Zdybel, who dominated the game from start to finish. A roughing-the-passer penalty tacked on extra yards, and the Jays took a 13–6 lead into the break. A successful two-point completion from Thomas to Trace Helsel extended the advantage to 15–6.
The Blue Jay defense took over from there. Westminster held Northwestern scoreless over the final three quarters, surrendering no points, forcing long fields all afternoon, and delivering relentless backfield pressure.
Keegan Zdybel turned in a career performance, hauling in nine receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas finished with 193 passing yards and two scores, while Helsel added 68 rushing yards and a two-point conversion reception.
On the defensive side, the Blue Jays were exceptional. Alex Goly, Jason Colonius, and Jeremiah Belizaire all posted 10 tackles. Belizaire was unstoppable in the trenches, recording 4.0 sacks and 7 tackles for loss. Kadyn Burleson, Josh McDaniel, and Colonius also contributed sacks as Westminster totaled seven sacks and double-digit TFLs as a unit.
Pass defense was equally sharp, highlighted by two interceptions from Dallas Isham and one from Goly, along with pass breakups from Colonius, Campton Hicks, and Cole Harrell.
With the win, Westminster ends the 2025 season on a high note, showcasing resilience, growth, and a strong foundation heading into the offseason.
