11/15/2025 Fulton, MO - In a thrilling SLIAC Championship match that showcased grit, resilience, and two historic career milestones, Westminster pushed Greenville to the limit before ultimately falling in a five-set heartbreaker, 30–28, 19–25, 21–25, 25–16, 16–18, in the final match of the 2024 season.
Despite the tough ending, the night was highlighted by two monumental achievements for the program. Setter Landrey VanOverschelde recorded her 2,000th career assist, a testament to her consistency and leadership at the heart of Westminster's offense. Also, senior Meghan Nolte notched her 1,000th career kill, cementing her legacy as one of the program's most productive attackers.
Westminster (28–8, 13–2 SLIAC) fought with everything they had from the first whistle, taking an intense opening set 30–28 behind aggressive swings and steady serving. Greenville responded by claiming the next two frames, but the Blue Jays surged back with a dominant 25–16 fourth set to force a decisive fifth.
The finale was a back-and-forth battle, with Westminster pushing ahead multiple times before Greenville narrowly escaped with the final two-point margin.
Offensively, Katelynn Jackson led the Blue Jays with 19 kills and 19.5 points, while Paige Rowland added 18 kills and 21 points in a high-volume, high-pressure performance. Samantha Hansen chipped in 10 kills, and Makenzie Sansone added seven.
VanOverschelde finished with 50 assists, three points, and 12 digs while running the offense through all five sets. Nolte's milestone night included eight kills and nine digs, while libero Haylie Schnake anchored the defense with a match-high 39 digs, keeping the Blue Jays alive in long rallies.
Westminster totaled 65 kills, 108 digs, and showed championship-level resilience throughout the match, closing the season as SLIAC Tournament runners-up.
