11/12/2025 Fulton, MO – Westminster men's basketball returned to their home floor on Tuesday night but came up short against a sharp-shooting Coe College squad, falling 73–60 inside Westminster Gym.
The Kohawks built a 32–26 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half, capitalizing on Westminster turnovers and timely scoring runs to pull away late. Despite several pushes from the Blue Jays, Coe's balanced offense and defensive pressure proved too much to overcome.
Walker Gohring led Westminster with an impressive all-around performance, scoring 19 points while adding four assists and shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Kolton Garner reached double figures as well, finishing with 10 points and five rebounds.
Kobe Jones provided six points and four made free throws, while Sean LaRose added seven points off the bench, knocking down a three and going 2-for-2 at the line. Aidan Temple chipped in six points, hitting both of his attempts from beyond the arc. On the glass, Gavin Hendrix ended with a team-high of 11 rebounds, and Roman Phillips pulled down seven boards in 14 minutes of action to help Westminster to a 41–31 rebounding advantage.
Westminster (0–2) looks to bounce back next week when they continue their homestand against Monmouth College on Tuesday, November 18 at 7 p.m.
