11/8/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster women's soccer team saw its postseason end on Thursday afternoon, falling 1–0 to Greenville in the SLIAC Semifinals. Despite a strong defensive effort and several dangerous chances on goal, the Blue Jays were unable to find the back of the net in a tightly contested matchup.
Greenville struck early, scoring the match's lone goal in the first half. Westminster responded with resilience, keeping possession for long stretches and generating seven total shots, including four on target. Emma Fontenot and Addi Curtis led the attack with multiple shots on goal, while Shea Nortrup added another quality look from the back line.
Defensively, Westminster held firm throughout the match. Reagan Chigas once again delivered a steady performance in net, recording two saves and keeping the Blue Jays within striking distance the entire way. The back line, anchored by Kendall Chigas, Shea Nortrup, and Allie Auer, limited Greenville's opportunities despite the Panthers' 15-shot output.
Fiona Shelp, Kaitlyn Halamicek, and Kelsey Cochran worked tirelessly to push the ball forward as Westminster continued to apply pressure deep into the second half. However, Greenville's defense held, preventing the Blue Jays from netting the equalizer.
Though the loss ends Westminster's 2024 campaign, the Blue Jays close the season with pride after a hard-fought playoff run and a quarterfinal win that propelled them into the conference's final four.
