12/30/25 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's basketball team put together a competitive effort but came up short against Rhodes College, falling 61–103 on the road. The Blue Jays were locked in throughout a physical matchup but struggled to generate consistent offense against the Lynx defense.
Kolton Garner led Westminster with 15 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Jamile Johnson followed with an efficient 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting while also pulling down six rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Walker Gohring added 11 points, converting key free throws and providing a spark in the second half. Roman Phillips contributed seven points and a team-high six rebounds in just 11 minutes, while Sean LaRose chipped in five points and steady play in the backcourt.
Despite the setback, the Blue Jays gained valuable experience against a strong nonconference opponent and will look to bounce back as they close out December. Westminster returns to action on December 30, when they play Hendrix College in its next matchup.
