12/6/2025 Fulton MO – Westminster men's basketball delivered its most explosive offensive performance of the season on Saturday, defeating Eureka 96–79 to improve to 3–5 overall and 2–1 in SLIAC play. The Blue Jays put up 48 points in each half, showcasing balance, efficiency, and dominant interior play in the road win.
Walker Gohring led all scorers with a career performance, dropping 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting while adding four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Gohring set the tone early, helping the Blue Jays build a 48–40 lead at the break before Westminster controlled the second half. Joining him in double figures was Kolton Garner, who knocked down five threes on his way to 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jamile Johnson continued his strong stretch of play, finishing with a powerful 17-point, 10-rebound double-double, going 7-of-12 from the line and anchoring Westminster on the glass. Roman Phillips was nearly perfect from the field, scoring 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting, while Aidan Temple grabbed seven boards and added four points. Gavin Hendrix, Jaden Rochester, and Carlitos Sanchez each contributed valuable minutes, with Sanchez handing out five assists and going 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
Westminster controlled the rebounding battle with 41 boards, including 13 offensive rebounds, and shot an impressive 52% from the field. The Blue Jays also generated 22 assists on 35 made baskets, highlighting one of their most complete offensive outings of the season.
With momentum building and two straight conference wins under their belt, the Blue Jays now turn their attention to a regional test. Westminster's next matchup is on Monday, December 9, when they travel to Missouri S&T for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
