2/14/2026 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's basketball team fell to Blackburn, 84-70, on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays move to 6-17 overall and 2-11 in SLIAC play.
Blackburn came out strong in the first half, building a 52-29 lead at the break. Westminster responded with a much stronger second-half effort, outscoring Blackburn 41-32 over the final 20 minutes, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Gavin Hendrix led the Blue Jays with a game-high 25 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. Sean LaRose added 13 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the stripe, while Roman Phillips contributed eight points on 4-of-5 shooting. Jamile Johnson controlled the glass with nine rebounds to go along with five points, and Kolton Garner chipped in six points and five boards. Westminster finished 22-of-50 from the field and 24-of-28 from the free-throw line while recording 34 total rebounds and seven steals.
The Blue Jays will look to bounce back on Monday, Feb. 16, when they host MUW.
