2/14/2026 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's volleyball team went 1-1 in Saturday's action, sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran before falling in four sets to Illinois Wesleyan. The Blue Jays now sit at 12-4 on the season.
Westminster opened the day with a strong straight-set victory over Wisconsin Lutheran, 25-20, 26-24, 25-20. The Blue Jays were efficient offensively, hitting an impressive .375 as a team with 44 kills. Derrick Turner led the way with 13 kills on a .474 hitting percentage, while Brady Sickles added 11 kills and hit .455. Demitrius Allen contributed nine kills and two service aces, and Connor Johnson dished out 36 assists to guide the offense. Westminster also tallied 13 total blocks and 35 digs in the win.
In the second match, the Blue Jays battled Illinois Wesleyan but came up short in four sets, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21. Turner again paced the attack with 14 kills while hitting .400, and Allen added nine kills on a .333 clip. Sickles chipped in nine kills and nine digs, while Johnson recorded 37 assists. Westminster finished with 42 kills and seven service aces in the match but was unable to slow Illinois Wesleyan's late runs in the final two sets.
The Blue Jays will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 15, when they face Wabash.
