Westminster Splits Matches with Central Christian and Southwest Baptist

2/21/26 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's volleyball team earned a split in its weekend action, defeating Central Christian College in straight sets before falling to Southwest Baptist. The Blue Jays now stand at 14-5 overall. 

Westminster opened the day with a strong 3-0 sweep of Central Christian (25-15, 28-26, 25-20). The Blue Jays hit .275 as a team with 41 kills and controlled the match at the net. Aidan Ortmann led the offense with 10 kills on .563 hitting, while Ethan Floyd added eight kills and Khalil Peterson chipped in five. Charlie Haas contributed four kills and four total blocks (one solo, three assists). Connor Johnson directed the attack with 16 assists and added three service aces, while Keegan Nase dished out 11 assists. Defensively, Ryan Rhodes recorded a team-high eight digs. 

In the second match, Westminster dropped a 3-0 decision to Southwest Baptist (25-21, 25-21, 25-21). Derrick Turner paced the Blue Jays with 12 kills, and Peterson added six kills on an efficient .625 hitting percentage. Connor Layman tallied five kills, and Demitrius Allen added four. Johnson finished with 26 assists and two service aces, while Allen led the team defensively with six digs. 

Westminster will return home on Sunday, March 8, to host Eureka at 6 p.m.
