2/20/2026 Fulton, MO – The Westminster softball team mounted a late comeback effort Friday but ultimately fell 11-7 at home to the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.
After being held scoreless through the first five innings, the Blue Jays erupted for four runs in the sixth. Yadira Montes got the rally started with an RBI single up the middle. Maddie Clubb followed with an RBI single to left, and Angela McQuarrie delivered a two-run single to right center to cut the deficit in half.
Westminster continued to battle in the seventh inning. Sarah Wendler highlighted the frame with a three-run home run to right center, driving in Paige Cruzan and Gabriella Pierre to bring the Blue Jays within four. Pierre finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored, while Montes added two hits and an RBI. Wendler totaled three RBI on her home run, and McQuarrie drove in two.
Westminster will return to action on March 6 when it travels to Central College for its next matchup.
