Blue Jays Split Matches in Milwaukee

3/15/2026 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's volleyball team earned a split in its weekend trip to Milwaukee, falling in a close four-set match to Benedictine before bouncing back with a straight-set win over #16 MSOE. The Blue Jays move to 17-6 overall and will next compete at Greenville's tri-match on Wednesday, March 18. 
Westminster battled in a tightly contested four-set match but came up just short against Benedictine. After dropping the opening set, the Blue Jays responded with a strong second-set win and pushed the fourth set to extra points before narrowly falling. Derrick Turner led all players with 25 kills on a .367 hitting percentage, continuing his dominant stretch. Connor Layman added 12 kills, while Khalil Peterson chipped in six. Connor Johnson facilitated the offense with 49 assists, helping Westminster total 58 kills as a team. Defensively, Ryan Rhodes led with 12 digs, while the Blue Jays added 48 team digs in the effort. 
The Blue Jays responded in their second match of the day with a composed straight-set victory over MSOE. 

Turner once again paced the offense with 11 kills, while Peterson added eight kills on an efficient .357 hitting percentage. Brady Sickles also contributed eight kills, and Demitrius Allen added five. Johnson recorded 28 assists and added three service aces to lead the offense. Rhodes anchored the back row with eight digs, and Westminster totaled six blocks defensively. The Blue Jays closed out the match by edging MSOE 26-24 in the third set to secure the sweep. 

Westminster will look to build on the weekend as they travel to Greenville for a tri-match on Wednesday, March 18.
