3/20/2026 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's volleyball team picked up an impressive straight-set victory over Augustana (IL) on Friday night, winning 25-22, 27-25, 25-23. The win improves Westminster to 20-6 on the season.
Despite the match ending in three sets, each frame was tightly contested. Westminster held off a late push in the opening set to secure a 25-22 win, then battled through an extended second set where they outlasted Augustana 27-25. The third set followed a similar script, with the Blue Jays closing strong to complete the sweep.
Offensively, Westminster was led by Demitrius Allen and Brady Sickles, who each recorded 12 kills. Sickles was especially efficient, hitting .350 while also contributing on the defensive end. Derrick Turner added 10 kills, while Khalil Peterson chipped in nine kills with a .313 hitting percentage. Connor Johnson orchestrated the offense with an outstanding performance at setter, dishing out 33 assists while adding 13 digs to record a double-double. Defensively, Westminster totaled 34 digs and made an impact at the net with nine total blocks, including four block assists from Sickles and Peterson.
As a team, Westminster hit .272 and showed balance across the board, with multiple players contributing in both offensive and defensive phases. The Blue Jays will return to action on Friday, April 3, when they host a home tri-match.
