Westminster College (MO)

3/30/2026 Fulton, MO–For the third time in two days, freshman Madison Plybon took the mound for the Blue Jay softball team, this time back at home in Fulton. Plybon, looking to bounce back after giving up a walk-off home run in her last outing, dominated Knox College. She pitched all seven innings, only giving up two runs and picking up the win. The offense was just as dominant. RBIs in the second inning from Maddie Clubb and Morgan Russley put the Jays up 2-0. The offense didn't stop there. The Blue Jays would continue to score in dramatic fashion; Chloe Ferguson stole home in the third, and Carlie Regier picked up her first career homer in the fifth. Knox would pick up two in the seventh against the otherwise dominant Plybon, but it wasn't enough. Westminster took the first game of the two-game set 7-2.  

 
Game 2. W 9-1  

 
In the second game of the Saturday doubleheader, the Jays' offense stayed hot. Westminster got the scoring going from an RBI bunt and a steal of home to give them an early 2-0 lead. In the second, the Jays scored four more runs, highlighted by a Morgan Russley double. A Yadi Montes homer in the third would put this game out of reach, and Peityn Thomas never let the Knox offense get anything started, pitching four innings, only allowing one run. Payton Dudenhoeffer shut the door in the fifth, giving the Blue Jays a 9-1 win and the series sweep.  

 

The Blue Jays' next game will be on March 31 against Blackburn on the road.
