4/21/2026 St. Louis, MO–Westminster Softball has never lost a game to Principia in their 22 matchups all time. The Blue Jays looked to continue this streak of dominance following a rough series against Greenville, now looking to right the ship against Principia in this Tuesday doubleheader.
Game 1: W, 13-0
Ace Madison Plybon got the start in the first game of the series. Greenville roughed up Plybon in her previous start, and like the Blue Jay team, was aiming to get back on track in this start. The righty did just that. She pitched arguably her best start of the season, pitching a complete game shutout, striking out seven. The excellence carried over to the offensive side as well. The Jays put up three runs in the first inning thanks to an
Ellie Schisler RBI double, followed by a run-scoring sacrifice fly and wild pitch. In the second, the Blue Jays put the game away, scoring eight runs while collecting only three hits in the inning, the biggest being a
Paige Cruzan RBI triple. The Jays tallied two more runs the rest of the game, both from
Karen Goodin RBI singles, and won this one by a final of 13-0.
Game 2: W, 13-4
The Jays, now looking to extend their undefeated streak to 24, turned to Peityn Thomas to extend the streak. Both teams traded first-inning runs, Westminster scoring from a groundout, while Principia scored on a wild pitch. The Blue Jays added four more runs in the next two innings courtesy of an RBI single from
Ellie Schisler and two runs scoring from wild pitches. Principia responded with two unearned runs in the bottom half of the frame to bring the game within two, but that was as close as they would make it. Westminster strung together six runs in the fourth to break the game open, once again needing only three hits, taking advantage of sloppy defense and working walks. The Jays would not look back all game as
Peityn Thomas finished with a complete game of her own, only allowing two earned runs. The Jays won this one 13-4, extending the undefeated win streak over Principia to 24 games.
The Jays' next matchup will come against Spalding in Fulton, Saturday, April 24th. Spalding enters this series 6-2 in conference and 15-16 overall.
