Mar. 21st, 2026/Fayette, MO - The Westminster women's track & field team continued their outdoor season on Saturday, March 21st at the CMU Open. Seven athletes competed on the track and in the field, led by sophomore Ilana Heffer and junior
Emma Braby in the field. The duo became the first women in modern program history to compete in the hammer throw, and Heffer set the new modern program record of 28.20 meters (SLIAC #8 mark). Braby led the way in the shot put, finishing 11th with a season-best mark of 9.67 meters. Junior

Madison Kempker also opened their 2026 outdoor seasons, placing within the top eight on the current conference leaderboard in their respective events.
On the track, sophomore
Makayla Cordes dropped a season-best time in the 800 (2:44.12) that sits as the third-best mark in the conference after the weekend. Fellow sophomore
Keeley Lauer made her collegiate track debut in the 800, and also ran a leg on the conference-leading women's 4x400 relay alongside Cordes, Stewart, and sophomore
Riley Vogel.
The Blue Jays travel back to Central Methodist University on Thursday, April 2nd and Friday, April 3rd for the CMU Invite.
