11/8/2025 Fulton, MO – The Westminster women's basketball team showed significant offensive improvement on Saturday afternoon but came up short against the University of the Ozarks, falling 84–66 in their second game of the season inside Mallory Gymnasium. 

After trailing 48–28 at halftime, the Blue Jays continued to battle, posting 16 points in the third quarter and a game-high 22 in the fourth. Westminster outscored Ozarks 22–12 in the final frame, but the early deficit proved too much to erase. 

Mariah Mayfield paced the Blue Jays with a standout performance, scoring a season-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including five made threes. Aly Bullock delivered a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds while knocking down 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Hana Neuman added six point and pulled down four rebounds. Madison Brown chipped in five points off the bench, while four players finished with four points each: Deyja Mayes, Amonye Allen, Evalena Claxton, and Zaria Reese. Gizelle Carreto distributed a team-high five assists and gathered four rebounds. 

Westminster won the battle on the boards for the second straight day, collecting 43 rebounds, but 30 turnovers created challenges offensively. 

The Blue Jays (0–2) return home for their next matchup, hosting Coe College on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
