12/3/2025 Fulton, MO – Westminster men's basketball turned in its most complete performance of the season on Wednesday night, rolling past Principia 85–49 to earn its first conference win and improve to 2–5 overall (1–1 SLIAC). The Blue Jays controlled the game from start to finish, building a 24-point halftime lead and never looking back.
Westminster exploded out of the gate, using balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and active defense to take a 42–18 advantage at the break. The Blue Jays carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring the Panthers 43–31 and cruising to a season-high 85 points.
Kolton Garner led the way with 16 points, knocking down two threes and adding six rebounds, four steals, and a block in a high-energy performance. Walker Gohring followed with 13 points and six boards, while Jamile Johnson recorded a dominant 11-rebound, 10-point double-double. Gavin Hendrix was a force in the paint, finishing with 8 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Sean LaRose added 8 points and a steal, and Adam Abuzaid provided an efficient spark with 7 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting. Carlitos Sanchez contributed across the board with 6 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
With the win, Westminster evens its conference record at 1–1 and builds momentum heading into a road matchup this weekend. The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday, December 6, when they travel to Eureka for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
