9/26/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster volleyball team earned a decisive home victory on Friday night, sweeping MUW in straight sets by scores of 25–15, 25–16, and 25–19. The win keeps the Blue Jays strong in conference competition and showcased a balanced offensive attack paired with steady defensive play.
Samantha Hansen led the Blue Jays with nine kills on an efficient .571 hitting percentage, while Katelynn Jackson posted a team-high 10 kills to go along with three service aces. Meghan Nolte added six kills without committing an error, hitting an impressive .545 on the night, and Kylie Hasselbacher chipped in six kills while hitting .417. Paige Rowland rounded out the attack with five kills and two aces.
Landrey VanOverschelde and Emma Behrmann directed the offense with precision, combining for 30 assists. VanOverschelde tallied 17 assists and seven digs, while Behrmann added 13 assists. Defensively, Haylie Schnake anchored the back row with 17 digs and two service aces. Nolte and Hansen also contributed at the net with three and four blocks, respectively.
With the sweep, Westminster continues to build momentum in conference play. The Blue Jays return to action at home on Wednesday, October 1, when they face Webster at 7 p.m. inside Historic Gym.
