1/4/2026 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's basketball team came up short in an 81–73 loss to Webster on January 3, moving to 5–8 overall and 2–2 in SLIAC play.
Westminster kept pace early, trailing by just five at halftime after a competitive first half. The Blue Jays continued to battle in the second half, but Webster was able to maintain its advantage down the stretch to secure the win.
Kolton Garner led all scorers with a game-high 25 points, knocking down six three-pointers and shooting 7-of-16 from the field. Walker Gohring added 16 points, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc and going 7-for-10 at the free-throw line. Jamile Johnson contributed 11 points on efficient shooting, while Aidan Temple also finished in double figures with 11 points, including three three-pointers. Westminster connected on 12 shots from long range but was unable to overcome Webster's second-half execution.
The Blue Jays will look to bounce back on Monday, January 5, when they travel to William Woods for their next nonconference matchup.
